Coospo heart rate monitors with an iPhone
Updated
Short answer
Coospo straps and arm bands send heart rate over the standard Bluetooth heart rate service, so any iPhone app that reads a generic Bluetooth sensor can use them. Coospo's own app is a cycling app and not the only choice. Wear the sensor, open the app, pick it from the list.

What works, and what to expect
- Works: the H6 and H808S chest straps, and the HW9 arm band, over Bluetooth, in any app that speaks the standard service.
- Works: the H9Z chest strap and the HW807 and HW706 arm bands on the same terms. They are all Bluetooth sensors.
- Won't work: the ANT+ side of a dual model. Strava's support pages say ANT+ sensors are not supported directly on iPhone, so the Bluetooth side does the work.
- Depends: how many apps can listen at once. Coospo's HW9 page says it supports two simultaneous Bluetooth connections. The H808S and H6 pages give no figure, and a review of the H808S says two plus ANT+, so treat two as the number to try.
Which one is which
The H6, H808S and H9Z are chest straps. The HW9, HW807 and HW706 are arm bands with an optical sensor. Coospo lists the H6, HW807 and HW706 as Bluetooth and ANT+. A strap is the steadier choice for hard intervals, and an arm band is easier to live with on a long, gentle session. Either way the iPhone gets the same signal.
The H808S runs on a replaceable CR2032 coin cell, and Coospo says up to 300 hours. The arm bands charge over a small magnetic USB cable.
Wake it and find it
A chest strap wants damp electrodes against skin before it sends anything. An arm band wants a snug fit against bare skin. Give either a few seconds.
Retailer pages for the H808S say to connect it inside the app, not from iOS Settings. That is how Beatcast works with a standard heart rate sensor. Allow Bluetooth when asked, and the sensor shows up in the app's own list.
If it never appears, something else usually has it. A bike computer, a watch or CoospoRide can hold the connection. The checklist for a strap that will not connect goes through the rest in order.
Is it reading
Look at the number, then move. It should climb within a few beats of a flight of stairs. If it sticks at one value or reads far too high at rest, the contact is dry or loose. Wet the electrodes, tighten the band, and check the battery. A coin cell that is nearly flat is a common cause.
What Beatcast does with the number
Once a Coospo sensor is connected, the number moves into the Dynamic Island and onto the Lock Screen while a session runs, and it stays there while you are in another app. The readout takes the colour of your zone. Sessions are kept with time in zone and export as CSV or TCX. Finished ones can go to Apple Health if you switch that on.
CoospoRide's listing describes recording cycling data and syncing to Strava. Beatcast on the App Store. Fourteen days free, then one purchase.
Questions
Which Coospo models work with an iPhone?
The H6, H808S, H9Z, HW9, HW807 and HW706 all send Bluetooth. The standard service is what a third-party app needs.
Can I use it with Coospo's app and Beatcast together?
Only if the sensor accepts two Bluetooth connections. If it takes one, close the other app first.
Does the ANT+ side matter on an iPhone?
No. The iPhone ignores it. Bluetooth does the work.
Where do I check what else works?
The sensor table lists the rest.
